Inside the large hoophouse
Seen through the camera lens, through the tear shown below, our winter veggies were going strong, with snow all around them, at the end of December, 2009.

Looking through the hoophouse wall
A tear made by the lashing wind offers a view inside.

How we keep the hoophouse from blowing down
A planter full of soil at one end, and many filled gallon bottles along the sides, are some of the 'anchors' for the hoophouse. It gets very windy up on Locust Hill!

Another 'anchor'
When it comes to keeping a hoophouse from going airborne, use whatever you can!
-
Let the trees help!
The best solution: tie heavy rope around tree trunks either side of the hoophouse!
-
Whatever it takes...
We're looking forward to Spring, when we can unfasten the hoophouse and--hopefully--let the plants grow in full sun again! And of course we'll add some new ones!
